DCHIMA Call for Nominations for 2021 – 2022 Term

It is not too early to begin thinking about how you can take an active leadership role in DCHIMA. This will be your chance to make a difference in DCHIMA, serve your members, and show support and gratitude to the HIM profession. If you know someone that you believe will be a good fit to volunteer and serve the members of DCHIMA please nominate them. If you feel that you are ready to serve, you may also nominate yourself for the upcoming term as well. We would like our members to nominate at least one members to the positions:

President-Elect –

The President-Elect shall serve as an aide to the President and shall assume the duties of the President in his absence or his inability to act. The President-Elect shall be an ex-officio, a member of all committees.
Term – 3 years

Director of Education –

The Education Directors work with volunteers on the Education Committee to design programs that address the needs of practicing health information management professionals throughout the DMV.
Term – 2 years

Director of Marketing –

The Director of Marketing will seek opportunities to promote the HIM profession throughout the DMV. This can include attendance and representation at community, high school and middle school career fairs throughout the DMV.
Term – 2 years

Treasurer –

The Treasurer shall keep, or cause to be kept, adequate and correct accounts of all the properties and financial transactions of DCHIMA and shall deposit, or cause to be deposited, all monies and other valuables in the name of and to the credit of DCHIMA, with such depositories as may be designated by the Executive Board of Directors.
Term – 2 years

Secretary –

The Secretary shall be official custodian of the records of DCHIMA. The Secretary shall certify and keep the original or a copy of the Articles of Incorporation and these Bylaws, as amended to date, as well as minutes of all meetings of the members and the Executive Board of Directors, and any committees having any of the authority of the Executive Board of Directors.
Term – 2 years

Criteria for Nomination

• Nominees must be current members and of DCHIMA.
• Nominees for President-Elect must have served on the DCHIMA Board of Directors for at least one year in an elected position or in a committee position.
• Members may self-nominate.
• Nominations may be submitted by another DCHIMA member.
